New Year's Eve Celebration

Traditionally, our Capitalism Day festivities culminate with a New Year's Eve bash. This year, thanks in part to some friends who actually took pictures instead of just eating gingerbread, we have more images of the event than usual. In addition to our Arc de Capitalisme, we ate some other yummy treats inspired by the French. Here is our menu

All Dressed-up and Ready to Go!
Here's a final look at the tower just before our guests arrived:

Carter did the honors of making the first break. (Yes, that is antibacterial hand gel in the foreground; we're a little protective our our pristine gingerbread.)

Others were quick to follow Carter's lead.
(Thanks to Michael Patzer for this photo.)

It didn't take long for a crowd to gather.

And they kept a'comin.'

Some enjoyed it more than others...

and some were inspired by the romantic, Parisian setting.
(Thanks to David Crawford for the two photos above and that of our young friend, Jacob, below.)

There is a rumor circulating that some people even had interesting conversations.

Overall, a good time was had by by the young and...

...slightly older than young (yeah, that's it) alike.
(Thanks to Elizabeth Trajtenberg and Relik Pri-Noy for the above photo.)

Alright. Sadly, good things must come to an end.
Too bad for the Goths Rome wasn't made out of gingerbread.
