Meet the world's first dollar sign shaped tower.

This was the most elaborate tower to date: it contained seven batches of gingerbread, three batches of fudge, and enough powerdered sugar to build a small ski slope. Admittedly, countless innocent eggwhites were harmed in the making of this tower...but the end result was worth it. The eggs would have wanted it that way.


It all started innocently enough with some late night viewing of "The Gingerbread Challenge" on the Food Network, after which we were inspired to decorate the interiors of the 2004 tower. Little did we know that such culinary inspiration would lead to two weeks of eating, sleeping and breathing gingerbread (ok, mostly eating).
