Construction
The cooled pieces are cemented together with Royal Icing (The Joy of Cooking, 1997, p. 1009). Boxes of ammo (sealed in plastic) offer great support for drying walls.
All five stories are left overnight to dry. This year's tower has five pentagon-shaped stories. The lower four stories are each 8" high. The fifth story is over 11".
The top floor has a slanted roof with a dollar sign shaped skylight. No actual dollars were harmed in the making of this tower.
We use the most advanced, futuristic materials available to construct the creamy fudge foundation. An extensive quality control program ensures that only the most tasty chocolate is included.
The completed stories are stacked and cemented with more Royal Icing.
