The peices are cemented together (Royal Icing, The Joy of Cooking, 1997, p. 1009) and allowed to harden.

The footprint of the bottom floor is traced onto the fudge base, and a trench is dug...

...providing a firm (and level! (and tasty!)) foundation for the entire structure.

The marble floor in the lobby was installed personally by the famous artist Chris Hamilton.
